Three sub-districts in Banggai Laut Regency were hit by floods due to high rainfall intensity on Thursday afternoon, June 13 2024.

The flood submerged hundreds of residents' houses in four villages in Banggai District, namely Lompio, Lamboko, Kokini and Lampa Villages.

Meanwhile, flooding also occurred in Bentean Village, South Banggai District, and Monsongan Village in Central Banggai District.

"Currently, based on reports, 20 heads of families (KK) are affected in Lamboko Village. However, for the others there are at least hundreds of residents' houses affected by the flood and are still in the data collection stage by the team in the field. Urgent needs are also still in the data collection stage," said Andy Sembiring, Head of Emergency and Logistics Division of BPBD Central Sulawesi Province.

Until now, the rain is still pouring with moderate intensity and water is still inundating residential areas in three sub-districts.
