A dramatic landslide caused by coal mining prompted an emergency evacuation and destroyed a village in China.

Footage shows a large chunk of earth and rocks detaching from the face of a cliff and crashing down a steep mountainside, which was reportedly triggered by mining activities in the area in Guizhou province on May 30.

The large debris fell onto Huacuowo Village below, and locals couldn't do anything but watch it unfold from a safe distance.

No one was hurt as authorities evacuated everyone in advance, although a pig farm was buried under rubble.

Authorities said they had implemented geological hazard mitigation in the area before the incident, avoiding casualties.

Rescue crews arrived later at the site to clear the rubble and investigate the landslide.
