Two travellers miraculously escape death after being struck by lightning in China
Two travellers miraculously escape death after being struck by lightning in China.
Shocking CCTV footage filmed in Jinzhou City in Liaoning Province on 13 June shows two individuals walking across a square in front of a train station when a sudden flash of light was followed by a loud bang, sending sparks flying and the pair to the ground.
Bystanders immediately called emergency services, and train station staff rushed to check on the injured. Witnesses reported that one individual appeared seriously hurt, while the other seemed relatively unscathed.
The Taihe District Emergency Management Bureau of Jinzhou confirmed the incident. At 7:15 p.m. on 13 June, a man named Sun, 30, was struck by lightning in the station square while meeting someone. He was rushed to hospital and is currently undergoing treatment with no life-threatening injuries. His companion, Li, was knocked down by Sun and sustained only minor abrasions.
The video was provided by local media with permission.
