This is the dramatic moment water poured onto passing cars negotiating a hazardous mountain road during a storm in the Philippines.

Footage shows the muddy waterfall cascading down from the cliffs onto Kennon Road in Benguet province on June 17.

Drivers were forced to pass carefully under the raging torrent as heavy rain continued to batter the road, which is notorious for landslides and traffic accidents during the rainy season.

A tourist, Roselle Gio Umali, said: 'It was like there were waterfalls in the middle of the road because of how strong the rain was. Other motorists driving here should be careful.'

The Philippines and neighbouring countries in Southeast Asia are at the start of their annual monsoon rainy season which sees soaring temperatures followed by powerful rain storms. The rudimentary infrastructure often struggles with the deluge, leading to widespread flash floods.
