A sacrificial cow running amok at Simpang Gadut Tilatang football field, Agam Regency, West Sumatra, on Monday (June 17, 2024). The cow attacked officials and a teenager, and nearly hit a motorcycle rider passing by on the road.

Footage filmed by Eka Darma, locals shows a tense moment when the cow struggles and tries to break free from the ropes tying its legs. The ropes come undone, and the cow then rams into one of the sacrificial committee officials.

The out-of-control cow then runs onto the road and rams into a teenager who is watching on the side of the road. Fortunately, the teenager only suffers scratches on his arms and knees.

Another tense moment occurs when the cow nearly hits a motorcycle rider with three passengers who is passing by on the road as the cow runs west. Luckily the rider survived as the cow just passed by the side.

The sacrificial committee and local try to chase the escaped cow. After nearly an hour, the cow is finally caught and controlled about two kilometers from the football field.

Fortunately, no one is seriously injured in the incident. The sacrificial committee member suffers bruises to his ribs from being rammed by the cow.

Local in the vicinity of the incident are sacrificing 15 cows and three goats during the Eid al-Adha holiday in 1445 Hijri in 2024. Of the total sacrificial animals, only one cow escapes while being slaughtered.
