A troop of monkeys has repeatedly invaded a house, causing extensive property damage for more than 15 years.

Homeowner Amornrak witnessed 60 macaques storming into her house and vandalising her property in Bangkok, Thailand, on May 16.

Footage shows the primates climbing on the gate and taking dips in a pond. One even threatened to bite her.

Despite her attempts to chase them away with a broom on four occasions, they returned persistently.

Amornrak stated she was ready to defend herself against the monkeys, risking arrest if necessary, but insisted on compensation for damages first.

She highlighted a past incident where charges were pressed against her for self-defence, prompting her to raise awareness of her predicament.

Having already paid several hundred thousand baht in damages and approximately 30,000 baht (640.06 GBP) on ineffective electric fences, she suggested someone willing to protect them buy a nearby house on sale for 5.9 million baht.

Meanwhile, community leader Kowit Suphawanichleela allocated an area at his house to feed over a hundred monkeys. He explained this initiative aimed to confine them to a specific area to prevent problems elsewhere.

Kowit added that he also sterilised them to reduce their population and anticipated the issue would diminish within this generation of monkeys.
