Hostage crisis at Rostov pre-trial detention center ends without injuries
On June 16, 2024, a hostage crisis unfolded at Pre-Trial Detention Center No. 1 in Rostov-on-Don, Russia, when inmates took two employees of the Federal Penitentiary Service hostage. Armed with a knife, the perpetrators reportedly handcuffed one officer during the incident. Fortunately, a swift special operation by law enforcement resulted in the elimination of the criminals and the safe release of the hostages, who were unharmed.
