A wild tiger charged at tourists in a safari jeep at a national park in India.

The big cat was hiding behind tall grasses when it saw the group of sightseers exploring Jim Corbett National Park and tried to lunge at them in Uttarakhand.

Footage shows the animal growling aggressively and pouncing toward the men riding a truck.

However, the tiger stopped and ran to the opposite side when one of the tourists shouted to scare it.

The feline disappeared along the trail, and the group continued their tour safely in the park.

Uttarakhand is part of the Terai Arc Landscape, which has several protected areas that provide habitats for tigers like Jim Corbett National Park, Rajaji National Park, and parts of the Himalayan foothills.

Threats to tigers in Uttarakhand include poaching, human-wildlife conflict in some zones due to proximity to human habitations, habitat fragmentation, and pressures from development projects.
