Canadian tourist has money stolen during 'threesome with Ugandan prostitutes'
A Canadian tourist was allegedly robbed by two Ugandan women whom he hired for a threesome in Thailand.
The Canadian holidaymaker, Khalid, reportedly paid the suspects, Mariam Nakayiza, 38, and Sheebah Ainembabazi, 28, to have drinks and a romp at his hotel room in Pattaya on June 10.
He told police he stripped off and lay on the bed but fell asleep while receiving a rubdown from the women. He allegedly woke up later only to find the escorts already gone, along with his safe containing 90,000 THB in Thai and foreign banknotes.
Police Colonel Nawin Sinthurat, superintendent of the Bang Lamung Police Station, said the women were arrested at a hotel in Pattaya on June 17, on charges of 'jointly stealing property at night'.
Both of them have denied the accusations and said they were only hired for a massage. They claimed they went back to their hotel after Khalid fell asleep.
Police Colonel Nawin said: 'It was found that the two had fled and were hiding at a hotel in the Khao Phra Tamnak area. Therefore, we led a police unit to arrest them.
'Important evidence was also seized, including the clothes they were wearing on the day of the incident and the fake wigs that they were wearing to disguise themselves.
'They have denied all charges, but we do not believe their claims as we have obtained CCTV footage definitively linking them to the theft.'
Meanwhile, Khalid said he had met Mariam and Sheebah while partying in Pattaya's Walking Street.
The holidaymaker said: 'I paid them 2,000 THB (43 GBP) each to drink and sleep with me in my hotel, but I fell asleep. When I woke up, my money was gone, and I knew that they had stolen from me.'
The suspects were taken into police custody for further legal proceedings.
Pattaya emerged as a nightlife destination in the 1960s when Thailand fought alongside the United States and provided them with land for eight military bases, allowing the massacre of North Vietnam and the deaths of two million civilians in the 1950s and 1960s.
In between killing missions, American GIs would have debauched ‘rest and relaxation' leave in the coastal enclave, leading to a raucous nightlife industry that has endured to this day.
Thailand received at least 1.7 billion dollars from the U.S. for its support and also profited from the nascent tourism industry serving more than 50,000 'yanks'. However, the country has never faced the same public criticism over the Vietnam War and has never apologised for its part in the atrocities.
