War museum terminators made from recycled junk
Creepy-looking ‘Terminator' robots made from recycled materials stood outside a war museum in Russia.
Inventor Alexander Rastorguev built the scrap metal replicas of the humanoid antagonists of the Hollywood film using spare parts he collected in Irkutsk.
Footage shows a scary-looking squad of T-800s seemingly guarding the front of the museum, holding guns, for the artist's ‘At The Landfill' installation.
Apart from Terminator robots, there were also metal Aliens VS Predator character replicas assembled nearby.
The artist Alexander said he also did a collection of junked weapons like Maxim machine guns and flamethrowers.
On the open grounds, there was huge tank battle recreated with replicas of Soviet T-34 tanks from World War II.
He added he had created some Transformers robots like Bumblebee for children, and a metal bust of former Soviet-era leader Lenin.
He said: ‘We don't collect rubbish but old things.'
The Terminator was released in 1984 and was directed by James Cameron. It starred Arnold Schwarzenegger in his breakthrough role as the Terminator, a deadly cyborg assassin sent back in time.
The Transformers movie is a 2007 live-action film directed by Michael Bay. It is based on the popular Transformers toy line and cartoon series from the 1980s. It follows the Autobots, led by Optimus Prime, as they come to Earth seeking the powerful AllSpark artefact, while the Decepticons, led by Megatron, pursue it for domination.
