Firefighters rescue elderly man trapped in flash floods caused by rainstorm in China
Firefighters rescued an elderly man trapped in flash floods caused by a rainstorm in southern China.
The heroic video was filmed in Puning City in Guangdong Province on June 17th.
Reports indicate that torrential rains caused widespread flooding in Puning's urban areas, with water depths in some places nearing two metres. Firefighters Chen Kaiyu and Huang Wubin, acting as part of a reconnaissance team, discovered the elderly individual clinging tightly to a lamppost, paralysed with fear.
Facing this urgent crisis, Chen and Huang promptly initiated a rescue operation. Despite heavy rain and deep water, they cautiously approached the elderly person using ropes and a lifebuoy.
After calming the individual and ensuring their safety, the firefighters successfully transferred them onto a rubber boat and swiftly escorted them to a nearby safe zone.
Thanks to the timely rescue, the elderly person escaped unharmed from the ordeal.
