Drones used to transport construction material across gorges in southwestern china
A new drone technology has revolutionised the transport of building materials in southwestern China, significantly boosting efficiency and cutting costs.
The video was filmed in Nujiang Lisu Autonomous Prefecture in Yunnan Province on 13th June. Drones gracefully lifted off, laden with bags of cement on a construction site. These drones swiftly soared over treacherous gorges, delivering their payload to the opposite side in mere minutes.
Historically, the transportation of construction materials in the Nujiang region has been a daunting challenge due to its isolated location and rugged terrain. Workers traditionally relied on labour-intensive methods, such as carrying materials on their backs or using pack animals, to traverse the difficult landscape. These methods were not only time-consuming and strenuous but also prohibitively expensive.
A site manager highlighted the remarkable advantages of drone transport. The process, previously requiring up to six hours and significant manpower for a single bag of materials, can now be accomplished effortlessly by drones, drastically reducing both time and labour costs.
This innovation has brought immense convenience to construction projects in the region.
