New Delhi, Delhi, India - June 16, 2024
New Delhi's streets came alive with joy and celebration as residents celebrated Eid al-Adha, or the Festival of Sacrifice. Marking the beginning of the day, thousands of Muslims gathered for morning prayers at major mosques, including the historic Jama Masjid.

Families performed out the ritual of Qurbani after prayers, distributing meat to friends, family, and those in need. Markets buzzed with activity in the days leading up to the festival, with many purchasing livestock for sacrificial rites.

Communal feasts featuring traditional dishes like biryani and kebabs brought neighbors together, while children delighted in receiving Eidi, gifts of money and sweets. Charitable activities were widespread, with NGOs and volunteers ensuring that the festive spirit reached underprivileged communities.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his greetings, writing on X, "Greetings on Eid-al-Adha! May this special occasion further cement the bonds of harmony and togetherness in our society. May everyone be happy and healthy."
