A motorist was halted in their tracks by a pride of lions seemingly guarding a road in Amreli, Gujarat.

Footage shows the group consisting of three females and nine male lions lying on the road.

According to locals, sightings of lions near residential areas has increased recently.

Dozens of lions seen together roaming in public areas posing threat

Dozens of lions were seen strolling and roaming in Jafrabad's babrkot mines area in Gujrat Amreli district . Footage filmed by a passerby who stopped his vehicle seeming a herd of lions .
There were 3 females and 9 male lions in the herd . According to local reports the population of lions have increased in the gir forest area .
According to locals lions coming out of the forest area are posing a threat to people living around , In the recent past , lions were spotted in public areas
