An unexpected pursuit unfolded in Sebastopol as police officers found themselves chasing a remarkably agile piglet through city streets, an incident captured on camera and shared widely.

The Sebastopol Police Department responded to reports of a piglet sprinting along Gravenstein Highway North, where it showcased surprising speed and strength for its size. According to a Facebook post by the department, officers and concerned citizens embarked on a lively chase spanning multiple city blocks before cornering the petite porcine in a resident's yard on Soll Court.

To everyone's relief, the piglet turned out to be a local pet named Pickles, promptly returned to its owner after the spirited escapade. Rather than pressing charges under 148(a)(1) PC for "Resisting a peace officer," authorities opted to issue a gentle admonishment to Pickles for evading capture.
