A disabled pensioner whose life was 'made hell' by a local bully has been arrested for allegedly taking revenge and stabbing him to death.

Chaiyaphum Tiamcharoen, 71, who has an amputated left leg, reportedly exploded in rage and stabbed Neng Sinkaew, 45, for constantly harassing him in Chachoengsao province, Thailand, on June 18.

Police Colonel Pongsan Meesri, superintendent of the Bang Pakong Police Station, said Neng's lifeless body was found at a pavilion near the Wat Bang Samak temple at 9 pm.

He said: 'The deceased was lying face-down in a pool of blood with wounds on his left cheek. When he was turned over, there was a stab wound on his chest and on his left ribcage.

'Officers have thoroughly inspected the area before sending the body to the forensic department for a post-mortem examination.'

Neng's father, Chin Sinkaew, 71, said he did not know who the killer might be as he barely paid attention to his son, whom he claimed was abusive towards him.

However, police soon tracked down Chaiyaphum, a lottery ticket seller often seen at the pavilion working and playing chess with his friends.

Cops converged at the amputee's home in Bang Pakong district later that evening. He initially denied being involved but admitted to the murder while being grilled by police.

He claimed that Neng was a drunkard who began bullying him around six months ago. He claimed that the bully had singled him out and made for of his disability - his amputated leg, which he lost in a motorcycle accident some 20 years ago.

He said: 'Neng came to sit and drink alcohol and watch us play chess all the time. When he was drunk, he liked to curse at people in the pavilion, picked fights, and made a disturbance. He said that he wasn't afraid of anyone.

'Every day in the pavilion, he would come by and annoy us. Nobody liked him. He was mean to me and laughed at me for having one leg, he said I wouldn't be able to catch him because I couldn't run.'

On the day of the incident, Neng was reportedly making a ruckus as usual.

Fed up with the verbal assault, Chaiyaphum halted his chess game and confronted Neng about his behaviour.

The stony silence from Neng allegedly caused Chaiyaphum to snap, and he pulled out a knife which he plunged twice into the drunkard's torso.

Chaiyaphum coldly stated that he 'went back home on his motorcycle and slept' after the stabbing.

Police Lieutenant Worayut Chanawichumeth of the Bang Pakong Police Station said Chaiyaphum was taken to reenact the crime on June 19.

He showed police where he had stabbed Neng, and where he disposed of the alleged murder weapon.

Police said Chaiyaphum will be charged with murder. He was detained at the Chachoengsao Provincial Court for further investigations.
