STORYLINE:

The World Intelligence Expo 2024 opened in north China's Tianjin Municipality on Thursday.

The expo, scheduled to be held from June 20 to 23, is co-hosted by the Tianjin municipal government and Chongqing municipal government, with a theme of "Intelligence: Extensive Development Space, Sustainable Growth Driver."

The event aims to aggregate AI-related resources both nationwide and worldwide.

"Artificial intelligence has shown many new developments, new trends and new features. The technical level is constantly improving, the forms of plug-ins are more diverse, the application scenarios are increasingly rich, and the industrial ecology continues to improve. It further shows the trend of general artificial intelligence and special artificial intelligence moving towards each other, which accelerates the substantial leap from perceptual intelligence to cognitive intelligence, as well as the pace of intelligent technology being applied from the digital space to the physical space."

With an exhibition area of 100,000 square meters, the event will include 10 themed exhibition areas covering the fields of AI, intelligent connected vehicles, intelligent manufacturing and robotics. Multiple international organizations and institutions will participate in the event, competing in robotics and intelligent driving challenges.
   
Both Tianjin and Chongqing have stepped up efforts to boost their AI industries in recent years. The two municipalities will alternate to host the World Intelligence Expo in the future.
