Sinister baby cobra caught hiding inside Canon printer
A sinister baby cobra was caught hiding inside a Canon printer of a home.
The snake was discovered by the house owner coiled inside the Pixma G2010 model while cleaning his desk before rescuers were called in Rayong province, Thailand on March 5.
Footage shows the 12inch-long venomous serpent taking refuge in the output tray of the printer. It poked its head out when the rescue volunteer Pornchai Chaingam tried to secure it with a hook, prompting him stop.
It returned inside and threatened to attack which made Pornchai back away a little before he quickly pinched its tail and dragged it out.
Pornchai said: ‘I used the metal stick to grab the snake and pull it out of the printer. It was still young but very fierce.'
Researchers found that 7,000 people are treated for snake bites each year in Thailand. Suchai Suteparuk from the Division of Toxicology at Chulalongkorn University reported that 30 of those die, with cobras being the biggest killer.
