This is the terrifying moment a lift plunged six storeys, leaving a passenger terrified in China.
Yuanyuan, an 11-year-old schoolboy, was about to go to school when he experienced the elevator malfunction, plummeting from the ninth floor to the third sub-basement level in Chongqing on June 11.
Footage shows the boy remaining composed, frantically pressing the buttons in an attempt to get out of the lift.
He can be seen in a squatting position, tightly clinging to the wall.
Fortunately, the lift stabilised, allowing the boy to successfully exit.
According to his mother, he burst into tears when he got home, overwhelmed by what had happened.
