Bus crash kills four and injures three in India
Four people were killed and three more injured when a bus fell into a gorge in northern India.
The Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) bus with seven people onboard veered off a mountain road and rolled down a deep gorge in Himachal Pradesh early Friday morning.
HRTC managing director Rohan Chand Thakur said: 'The accident took place at 6:45 am after the bus overturned on the road. In all, there were five passengers besides the driver and the conductor. Three injured have been admitted to the civil hospital in Rohru.'
Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi, Shimla District Superintendent of Police, said two people, identified as Birma Devi and Dhan Shah, from Nepal, were killed at the scene, while the bus driver Karam Das and the conductor Rakesh Kumar died on the way to the hospital.
The three others injured were rushed to a hospital and were in stable condition.
The cause of the accident was being investigated.
