A puppy buried under concrete rubble at a construction site for three days was rescued in Thailand. The two-month-old black-and-white pooch was trapped when a tractor demolished an old chicken coop in Chonburi province.

Workers heard its cries and called a rescue team. Ten volunteers, using a sledgehammer, cleared the rubble to free the dog. Resident Da Mawalee, who adopted the puppy, named it Boon Rod. Despite an injured leg and paw, Boon Rod is now safe and recovering with its two siblings also rescued nearby.

A puppy buried under the concrete of a construction site for three days was rescued in Thailand.

The two-month-old black-and-white pooch was hiding inside an old chicken coop when a tractor demolished it on June 17 to turn it into a farm field in Chonburi province.

It was stuck under 5ft-deep rubble before workers finally heard and the rescue team was called to the area to assist.

Footage shows the diligent rescue workers removing debris from the site to find an opening and extract the canine.

It took ten volunteers to clear enough of the rubble to pull the dog out. They also used a sledgehammer to dig through the rubble more easily.

Resident Da Mawalee, 54, who lives nearby adopted the dog. She said: ‘I named it Boon Rod because it was very lucky to be alive.'

Boon Rod had an injured leg and right paw and was given treatment. It was also fed and given water as it was starving after not eating for days.

The woman's neighbour, Suphrait Intasee, 44, said she found the puppy's two siblings wandering nearby.

She said: 'They were walking around the scene. I took them with me.'

All three puppies are now in their adoptive homes.
