US: Bakersfield Vehicle Versus Pedestrian Major Injuries
East Bakersfield, 225 S. Brown Street, CA, USA - June 20, 2024.
Bakersfield police officers responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian traffic collision. One person was transported with major injuries and CPR in progress. BPD was on scene handling the investigation. The driver involved stayed on scene and was cooperating with police. The collision occurred in a residential neighborhood.
According to the Bakersfield PD, the male pedestrian is currently listed in critical condition.
From the BPD press release of the incident:
The preliminary investigation revealed the adult female driver of a Toyota Corolla was travelling north in the 200 block of South Brown Street when she collided with the pedestrian who was in the roadway. The driver of the involved vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation. Speed, drugs or alcohol are not believed to be
factors in the collision.
The 200 block of South Brown Street is a north/south residential roadway with one lane of travel in each direction. The lanes of travel are not delineated by any markings or dividers. The speed limit is 25 miles-per-hour.
