2024 World nettle eating championships at the Dorset Nectar Cider Farm at Waytown near Bridport in Dorset, UK. The contest, currently held at the Dorset Nectar Cider Farm, began in the late 1980s when two farmers argued over who had the longest stinging nettles in their field. This evolving into the World Nettle Eating Championships which was originally hosted at the Bottle Inn at Marshwood. Competitors eat the nettle leaves from 2-foot-long stalks for half an hour. The person who eats the longest length of nettles is crowned Nettle King and the Nettle Queen. This years mens winner Tom Wheeler ate 116 feet of nettles. Hundreds of people attended the event to watch the fun and support the competitors.
