A breathtaking video has emerged from China showing a hiker witnessing a rare phenomenon known as Buddha's light while ascending a mountain.

The incredible video was captured as the filmer reached the summit of Wushan in Qingdao city, located in China’s Shandong province on June 18.

The ethereal light spread across the horizon, complemented by the shimmer of a "golden mountain" and distant rainbows, creating a truly magical scene. The colourful halo surrounds the observer's shadow, often interpreted as a sign of personal enlightenment associated with Buddha or divinity.

In China, this phenomenon is known as 'Buddha's light' or 'Buddha's halo' and is commonly observed on cloud-shrouded high mountains.
