Carole Middleton and Sarah Ferguson embrace outside Tom Kingston's memorial
Kate Middleton's mum Carole and Sarah Ferguson embraced each other in a hug outside Tom Kingston's memorial service.
Thomas Kingston, who married Lady Gabriella in 2019, died earlier this year aged just 45, leaving the daughter of Prince Michael of Kent bereaved.
And the Middleton matriarch was there to support the royals - hugging Sarah outside St Mary Abbots Church in Kensington on Saturday morning (22).
Mike Tindall and Zara Phillips were also in attendance alongside Lady Amelia Windsor as the group filed in for the service at around 9.50am.
Steve St Clair, 56, who took a video, said: "It was a bit surreal to see them there - there was no obvious security or press about."
Steve's girlfriend Leila Jafari, 48, a travel consultant, even managed to have a quick chat with Mike Tindall.
"I went up to Mike Tindall to ask if it was ok to take photos and he said 'go ahead, you're getting a lucky picture!'" she said."
Steve, a baking consultant, said: "My partner is the Hello reader - I would have walked straight past them without even noticing if she hadn't spotted them."
Leila said: "It's amazing to see this group in such a natural and public setting without any media presence. "
"I was touched by just how normal and friendly they were, and it reminds us that whoever we are, life's struggles affect us all regardless of class, religion, or title."
Speaking after the event, a spokesperson for the Kingston family said: "Lady Gabriella and the Kingston family have been deeply touched by the outpouring of love, kindness and support they have received over the past difficult months."
"They were grateful today for the chance to celebrate – and give thanks for – the life of a wonderful man, among so many of those who knew and loved him too."
