Flash floods submerged a subway station amid the torrential rain in southern China.

The video was filmed in Changsha City in Hunan Province on June 24.

According to data from the China Meteorological Administration, Changsha received 65.1 millimetres of rain between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. on the 24th, breaking the local record for June's hourly rainfall.

With drainage systems unable to handle such downpours, numerous roads in the city suffered from severe flooding, and some subway stations were inundated. Particularly near Changsha Railway Station, subway stations were heavily flooded, greatly disrupting residents' commutes.

Subway operators announced that to ensure passenger safety, both Line 2 and Line 3 have been completely shut down.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
