USA: Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Vehicle in Pacoima

LAFD and LAPD responded to a traffic collision involving a pedestrian in the 12800 block of Foothill Boulevard. Upon arrival, firefighters and police determined that the victim, who was struck by the vehicle, was deceased at the scene.
The pedestrian – a 60-year-old male – was walking outside a crosswalk when he was struck by a vehicle travelling southbound on Foothill Boulevard, according to a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department. The driver of the vehicle stopped to render aid and remained at the scene.
LAPD officers had shut down a portion of Foothill Boulevard from Arroyo Street near a shopping centre.
The cause of the collision is not known at this time and is currently under investigation by LAPD's Valley Traffic Division.
