A piglet survived flash floods by clinging to an air conditioner unit in southern China.

The video was filmed in Meizhou City in Guangdong Province on June 17.

A piglet was swept away by torrential floodwaters and astonishingly ended up stuck on an outdoor air conditioner unit on the first floor of a villager’s house, miraculously surviving.

The villagers have affectionately named the lucky piglet " Pig Strong.

On June 16, Meixian District was hit by unprecedented heavy rainfall, compounded by severe upstream rain and flood discharge, causing the Songyuan River to flood historically, severely threatening the lives and property of local residents.

On the morning of June 17, with floodwaters not yet fully receded, villager Zeng Guiqiang discovered the piglet clinging to a neighbour’s air conditioner unit.

Investigations revealed that the piglet was not from Zeng's village but had been swept downstream by the flood, coincidentally getting lodged on the air conditioner. The piglet had endured the raging waters for at least 12 hours, ultimately surviving the ordeal.

Moved by the sight, Zeng Guiqiang's mother decided to adopt the piglet. The family supported the decision, believing that "Pig Strong" deserved a warm home after its tenacious survival.

Now, "Pig Strong" is part of the Zeng family, who plan to raise and care for it.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
