China's national weather observatory on Monday issued this year's first red alert for rainstorms. It's the highest level in the country's weather warning system.
The National Meteorological Center forecast heavy rains in the provincial-level regions of Hubei, Hunan, Anhui, Jiangxi, Zhejiang, Guizhou and Guangxi.
Various measures have been implemented to prepare for the extreme weather.

This system integrates photovoltaic energy storage technology with urban drainage facilities, bolstering the city's flood prevention and power supply infrastructure.
In Zhejiang Province in east China, the local power supply company has manned 50 critical substations and is actively repairing power facilities damaged by rainstorms and floods.
