Strong winds flipped over a wooden hut as Thailand braces for heavy rain.

CCTV footage shows the gales blowing away the small shack amid a torrential downpour in Trat province on June 24.

Locals said the storm lasted for several hours, uprooting trees and unroofing zinc sheets from houses.

Village headman Kritsana Chaiyapetch said the storm caused 'millions of baht' in damage after ripping through a durian orchard and knocking down several decades-old durian trees, each valued at at least 100,000 THB (2,150 GBP).

Eight houses were also destroyed.

The local government said it plans to provide assistance to homeowners to help repair their houses.

Meanwhile, the durian orchard garden owners were advised to report to the provincial agricultural office to receive new durian seedlings.
