An overly protective husband attacked a car park barrier that struck his wife's head.

The couple were walking under the automatic gate when it lowered and struck the woman in the face in Yunnan, China, on June 15.

Looking around for someone to blame, the furious man caught sight of the white and red barrier. He stormed over and shook it violently.

However, as it was goading him, the barrier was unimpaired and closed smoothly.

CCTV shows how the driver saw red, running over and attacking the gate with a flying karate kick. The assault left the gate bent backwards and out-of-action.

The man then walked away, seemingly satisfied that his honour as a husband had been restored and his ability to protect his wife had been proven.

The car park operators that own the automatic barrier said that repair costs were CNY 2,000 (216.85 GBP) and police have been informed.
