A playful Daschund pooch had to be rescued when it waded through thick mud in a restaurant garden and became stuck.

The five-month-old pooch named Mamuang was excited to explore the outdoors when they visited Dog's Dream Cafe but ended up stranded in the quicksand-like sludge at the back of the property in Bangkok, Thailand on, June 15.

Footage shows a staff helping Mamuang to escape the grey quagmire. He led the canine towards higher ground but had to be carried as it had short legs.

Mamuang was given a bath with a water hose afterwards but returned to messy playing in the mud.

Pet owner Pao said: ‘Mamuang was very excited with the muddy outdoors. It was the first time we went there.'
