Firemen lower village dwarf into well to rescue trapped boy, 3, in China
This is the heroic moment a dwarf was lowered into a narrow well to rescue a trapped toddler in China.
Zhao Chenglong, 30, who suffers from dwarfism, volunteered to be roped up and sent down the narrow 50ft well shaft as firefighters struggled to save a three-year-old boy who fell inside in Hengshui, Hebei, on June 25.
The firemen dug around the well before briefing 3ft tall Zhao about their training and the safety precautions.
Dramatic footage shows the brave villager being lowered head-first into the cramped passage.
He reached the trapped toddler and grabbed him, safely bringing him back to the surface.
