Traffic police brave rapid flood to rescue trapped scooterer in southern China
On June 24, in Changsha's Yuhua District, on the railway bridge section of Guihua Road, a delivery driver found himself trapped in a swift current during a heavy rainstorm. Fortunately, timely intervention by traffic police resulted in his rescue.
At around 10:30 AM on June 24, the delivery driver attempted to ride his electric scooter through a flooded area. Due to continuous rainfall causing unusually rapid water flow, he became stranded in the water, facing a perilous situation.
Nearby traffic police officers from the Changsha Yuhua District's first squad noticed the danger. They quickly formed a human chain and approached the trapped driver. The strong current, however, initially pushed him towards deeper water. Despite the challenge, the police persisted with remarkable determination and professionalism.
After multiple attempts, the police successfully rescued the delivery driver.
The driver was in good health after being rescued. He declined the officers' offer to take him to a hospital, choosing instead to wait for the water to recede so he could retrieve his scooter. He expressed heartfelt gratitude for the police's selfless assistance.
