Doctor removes poisonous ant from girl's ear in Vietnam
A doctor removed a live poisonous ant from a 10-year-old girl's ear canal in Hanoi, Vietnam on June 27.
According to the doctor, the girl arrived at the hospital complaining of an earache. She explained that an ant had crawled into her ear, causing discomfort.
The doctor promptly extracted the ant from the girl's ear using a cotton swab, opting not to use tweezers or forceps to avoid causing panic or further ear pain, given the girl's young age.
Fortunately, the ant did not cause any damage to her ear canal.
The girl recounted that the ant had crawled into her ear while she was sleeping, and the doctor advised using a mosquito net to prevent insects from entering her ears.
This footage was filmed with the patient's permission.
