Rain hammers Delhi-NCR, roads flooded, flights operations suspended

Heavy rain battered parts of Delhi-NCR on Friday, crippling normal life and leading to a suspension of flight operations at Delhi airport's terminal 1. One person was killed after a portion of the roof at terminal 1 collapsed amid heavy rain.

Delhi received 150 mm of rainfall in three hours between 2.30 am to 5.30 am in one of the wettest spells the capital has recorded this year. The city's main observatory in Safdarjung recorded 228 mm of rain in the past 24 hours.
Many areas have been waterlogged, and water entered houses in several low-lying areas. The movement of traffic has been hit, with many stranded on the road due to waterlogging
