STORYLINE:
Egypt's Finance Minister Mohamed Maait announced Thursday the government will disburse 3 billion Egyptian pounds (around 62.46 million U.S. dollars) to support 362 export companies.
The funds will be used to settle arrears owed to the Exports Development Fund under the ministry's immediate cash payment initiative.
The ministry added that further payments to beneficiaries under the initiative's seventh phase will be made on July 11 and August 8.
This announcement follows an earlier disbursement of 5 billion Egyptian pounds in June to 360 different exporting companies under the same program.
