SOUNDBITE 1 (French): ANGE EMMANUEL ASSA, Representative for children
"We want things to change. We no longer want to see a child deprived of their rights. We no longer want to hear that a child has been the victim of violence. We must no longer remain passive in the face of flagrant violations of children's rights. We must be protected because we need to grow and be the adults of tomorrow."

SOUNDBITE 2 (French): MARIANA STIRBU, Deputy Representative of UNICEF in Cote d'Ivoire
"Indeed, according to the national survey on violence against children produced in 2018, 61 percent of boys and 47 percent of girls were victims of violence during their childhood. According to administrative data on child protection, more than 6,500 children were victims of all forms of violence in 2023. Sexual violence tops the total number of this violence. Ladies and gentlemen, behind each of these figures, there is a story of suffering, suffering of boys or girls, it is unimaginable. These are violations of rights enshrined in the Convention on the Rights of the Child."

SOUNDBITE 3 (French): MOUSSA DIARASSOUBA, Chief of staff at the Ministry of Women, Family and Children of Cote d'Ivoire
"This caravan, beyond being a symbol, is our commitment to putting in place concrete actions to put an end to this silent tragedy. This campaign and this caravan are not simply a one-off event, but the start of a national dialogue with all social strata from several localities in the country, and a mobilization of all the actors and all the friends of children to share the perception, spark debate and reinforce our commitments to protecting children against violence, at all times and in all places."
