Furious market stall owner hits policeman with SHOVEL in China
This is the shocking moment a furious market stall owner hit a policeman with a shovel in China.
The coconut vendor had a row with two urban management officers over the placement of his stall, which was blocking pedestrians at a market in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, on June 26.
When the officers ordered him to move, the vendor was enraged and attacked one of the uniformed men.
Dramatic video shows the vendor grabbing a shovel and using the wooden handle to brutally whack the cop twice on the head.
Onlookers intervened and stopped the man's rampage as the alleged assault left the officer bleeding. The officer had a wound on his forehead and sat down from the shock while bystanders tended to him.
A staff member of the Tangxia Sub-district Office confirmed to local media that the conflict occurred on June 26, when one of the two urban management law enforcement team members of the Sub-district Office was attacked and injured by a vendor during duty.
The office said the vendor had been occupying a portion of the sidewalk for two months, and did not have a fixed storefront.
A spokesman for the Tangxia town police station said that the situation was being investigated by the Tianhe District Public Security Bureau.
