Rome, Italy - June 28, 2024

The "Burn Everything" movement staged a symbolic act of nonviolent civil disobedience today on Corso Vittorio Emanuele in Rome. Starting precisely at 08:49, six activists took to the street, temporarily disrupting traffic to commemorate the Stonewall riots.

Forming a semicircle, activists danced freely while two played tambourines, their rhythms echoing a call for inclusivity and equality. Banners unfurled, including those advocating social change and the LGBTQIA+ pride flag, symbolized the movement's stance against social exclusion.

Massimiliano, a spokesperson for the movement, emphasized the event's significance: "We gather here today to honor Stonewall's legacy and continue the fight against discrimination." The action culminated with police intervention at 9:10 am, dispersing participants peacefully.

The demonstration highlighted ongoing challenges faced by Italy's queer community amid recent incidents of violence. The "Burn Everything" movement reaffirmed its commitment to nonviolent protest, advocating for societal change and broader human rights protections.
