After years of attempting to befriend a woodpecker, a local resident finally succeeded this year. In a heartwarming encounter, the woodpecker landed on the resident's hand for the first time, taking a few nuts and storing them in a nearby tree.

However, the serene moment took a turn when a squirrel attempted to steal the buried nuts. The woodpecker sprang into action, launching an attack to defend its stash. In the chaos, the woodpecker narrowly missed both the squirrel and the resident.

I've been trying to get a woodpecker to land on my hand for years, this year the woodpeckers decided to befriend me, so I gave it another shot. This is my first attempt.
