STORYLINE:
Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati on Saturday wrapped up his inspection tour in the country's south.
Mikati visited southern Lebanon for the first time since the start of the confrontations on both sides of the border between Lebanon and Israel on Oct. 8, 2023.
The prime minister started his tour by visiting the South Litani Sector army base at the Benoit Barakat barracks in the city of Tyre.
Mikati's visit coincided with the start of official exams in Lebanon. He visited several exam centers in Tyre.
The prime minister ended his tour by holding a health-sector meeting at the Union of Municipalities in Tyre.

"We are always advocates of peace, and our choice is peace and the implementation of (UN Security Council) resolution 1701. Israel must stop its repeated attacks on Lebanon, and stop the war in Gaza. I am sure that we will be on the right path of stability and security."
