A broken fire hydrant sparked a traffic disruption when it sent a geyser that blocked traffic on the road in Thailand.

Footage shows the torrent of water blasting across the pavement under the Rajabhat Phranakhon MRT station in Bangkok, on June 29.

The high-pressure stream caused a traffic jam along Chaeng Watthana Road after a truck had crashed into the fire hydrant.

Metro staff arrived and were able to stop the flow of water, allowing traffic to resume in 10 minutes.

The Corporate Communications Department of MRT Pink Line said they have reached out to the company that owns the truck.
