Villagers in southern China united to retrieve a car swept away by rapid floods.

The video was filmed in Xupu County in Hunan Province on July 1.

A man was caught off guard when his vehicle was swept into the Xu River by rising floodwaters.

Stranded in his car for over half an hour as it drifted perilously in the raging waters, the man faced a dire situation.

Fortunately, villagers spotted the unfolding crisis and swiftly launched a rescue operation by boat. Their efforts proved successful as they managed to pluck the man from the river and haul his vehicle to safety on the riverbank.

Despite the harrowing ordeal, the man emerged physically unscathed, though understandably shaken by the experience.

He expressed profound gratitude to the villagers for their timely intervention and indicated plans to personally thank his rescuers in the coming days.
