Quick-thinking driver halts and honks to alert as baby stroller heads for road in China
A quick-thinking driver halted and honked to alert as a baby stroller rolled towards a busy road in southern China.
The terrifying CCTV footage was filmed in Chengdu City in Sichuan Province on June 18.
A grandmother was holding a baby stroller while the child's mother stood nearby, adjusting her clothes. Suddenly, the grandmother's eldest granddaughter dashed out from inside the house, running farther away by the second. Concerned about the child's safety, the grandmother quickly turned to chase after her granddaughter.
Assuming her daughter-in-law would notice the movement of the baby stroller once she left, the grandmother hurriedly pursued her granddaughter. However, the mother was preoccupied with her own tasks and failed to realize the grandmother had left her side.
Due to the slight slope at the doorstep, the unattended baby buggy rolled uncontrollably towards the road under the influence of gravity.
Fortunately, there were few vehicles on the road at the time, and the baby buggy came to a safe stop in the middle of the road. A white SUV passing by immediately honked its horn to alert others of the situation.
It was only then that the mother at the doorstep turned around and noticed the unfolding drama. She sprinted frantically to retrieve the child from the stroller.
