An iconic sculpture, titled "Beautiful Future", in central China was submerged as the Yangtze River swelled in severe rainfall.

The video was filmed in Wuhan City in Hubei Province on June 26th.

The sculpture was crafted by nationally acclaimed artist Guo Xue in 2017. Originally depicting a family of three, it was later modified to include five figures.

Set against a backdrop of circular rings, the sculpture vividly portrays two adults and three children, capturing scenes of familial outings, symbolising the joys of life and the fullness of familial happiness.

In recent days, incessant heavy rainfall has caused the water level of the Yangtze River in the Wuhan section to rise continuously. The water level at Wuhan Han Kou station had reached 27.45 metres, exceeding the alert level by 0.15 metres.
