An elderly woman mistook a hand grenade for a hammer, using it for over 20 years in central China.

The video was filmed in Xiangyang City in Hubei Province on June 23.

Mrs. Qin, who is 90 years old, found the grenade over 20 years ago while working on her own land in the original Dawan Village of Huangbao Town.

She mistook it for a hammer due to its appearance and brought it home. Over the years, she occasionally used it as a hammer to pound Sichuan peppercorns, crack walnuts, and drive nails.

During the demolition of her house that day, a worker recognized the object as a hand grenade and promptly alerted the police. Law enforcement officers, accompanied by bomb disposal experts, quickly arrived and confiscated the grenade.

The grenade, which had a wooden handle, appeared intact with visible signs of rust and significant dents from its use as a makeshift hammer over the years. The handle had become smooth and polished due to long-term use.

The police safely removed the grenade from the scene, eliminating any potential danger without causing harm or injury to anyone.
