Residents used rowing boats to move a house across the sea into its new location.

Footage shows the wooden home floating on two vessels as it was being relocated to a coastal village in Tawi-Tawi City, the Philippines, on June 27.

The boatmen carefully transported the structure between its new neighbours before letting it stand on poles to become a stilt house.

Neighbour Fatima Azzizah Talipan said: 'The owner and our neighbours transferred the house on a boat. How they work is truly amazing.'

Stilt houses are traditional dwellings built on raised platforms supported by bamboo or wooden stilts. They are typically found in coastal areas, flood-prone regions, and rural communities.

These structures are designed to protect inhabitants from water and pests and provide natural ventilation in the tropical climate. The elevated design of stilt houses also serves cultural and practical purposes, often creating a multi-functional space beneath the living area for storage, livestock, or social gatherings.
