This singer proved the show must go on - battling through swarms of flying termites.

Witthaya Siwakrothok, 29, was performing for a village festival when the state was engulfed by the bugs in Buriram, Thailand, on June 30.

They appeared to be attracted to the youngster and repeatedly divebombed him and flew into his mouth. They even clung to his legs and crawled up the inside of his trousers.

But super-focused Witthaya remained unfazed and managed to continue holding the microphone and singing local songs while batting away the critters.

Witthaya said: 'I had no choice but to keep singing while swatting away the termites.  I didn't want to disappoint the guests.

'It was my first time singing in such a situation, and also my first time eating live termites. They were covering my whole body and going up my sleeves, in my mouth, everywhere.'

Mongkhon Koakaew, the owner of the sound truck which was hired for the event, thanked his staff for carrying on with the performance.

He said: 'I saw him struggling and decided to record it.  I never thought it would get such a reaction. Everybody praised him for carrying on without being overpowered by the flying termites.'
