Heroic neighbours rescue driver trapped in fiery car explosion in China
A car suddenly burst into flames, trapping a driver inside. In a desperate race against time, several brave neighbours rushed to the scene and managed to rescue the endangered driver.
The shocking incident was filmed in Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province, on July 3.
Eyewitnesses recounted that the accident occurred in the afternoon when a small car emitted a loud bang while driving, followed by smoke and flames. The driver, unable to open the door, was trapped inside as the situation grew increasingly dire.
One eyewitness, who lives on the ground floor, described how their family immediately abandoned their meal and sprinted to the scene. Together with other neighbours, they heroically pulled the trapped driver from the burning vehicle.
The driver was the sole occupant of the car. Moments after the rescue, the car exploded more violently, ejecting a liquefied gas canister, and was engulfed in flames, leaving only a charred skeleton behind.
According to the fire department, the driver sustained burns to the right shoulder but no other injuries were reported.
The vehicle in question had been modified to run on both gasoline and natural gas, a conversion that involves installing a natural gas supply system in the car.
The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation.
